Can anyone with a knowledge of steam locomotives tell me what’s going on in this video?

I know they are test firing it, but what exactly are they doing? is it something to do with the throttle? Safety valve?

Our day out will be mainly in train stations and will include a ride on a steam train but my kids (age 10 &11) want me to make a list of things for them to watch out for. Any ideas?

Does anyone know of a place where a heritage railway is mixed with a commuter railway?

Such as a commuter train works from monday to friday and little bit on the weekends.
During the open times on weekends a steam train would be able to operate for tourists.

Can anyone identify a Fleischmann model train locomotive?

I have a Fleischmann steam locomotive that is marked “made in U.S. Zone Germany”
They started making HO scale in 1952 and the occupation ended in 1955. Does this mean it was made in those years? It is marked with # 1360 and 01 1952.
