Puffing Billy 28/12/06

Video of Puffing Billy steam operations between Belgrave and the landslide site. Featuring locos 6A, 8A, 14A, G42 and diesel DH31. Please excuse the lopsided angle on the final shot: the movement took us by surprise, and I didn’t have time to properly set up the tripod! Still photos from this day can be found here: martin-bennet.fotopic.net

Puffing Billy Narrow Gauge Australian Steam Railway pt1 – Australian Preserved Railroad – züge

An artsy intro I did for one of my home movies. Unfortunately I didnt have my tripod with me when filming these scenes 🙁 Puffing Billy is a genuine relic of our more leisurely days. An historic steam train still running regularly in the mountain district it was built to serve at the turn of the century. The Railway is the sole survivor of four experimental lines used to develop rural areas in the early 1900’s. Puffing Billy is now a major tourist attraction, its operation depending on hundreds of dedicated volunteers. For more information about whis wonderful narrow gauge railway visit the official website www.puffingbilly.com.au
