2816: Chasing Canadian Pacific Steam Across The Midwest – Preview 3

Here are scenes from my DVD “2816: Chasing Canadian Pacific Steam Across The Midwest”. DVD information here – yardgoatimages.com You’ll love the extended pacing scenes on the DVD. In August and September 2007, CP 2816 made a goodwill tour of the US Midwest, with trips across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The first scene is the bridge that carries CP’s Paynesville Sub across BNSF’s busy yard in northeast Minneapolis. The train is just beginning a day trip to Glenwood, Minnesota and the pacing shots are from the same trip. The next scene is a slow movement coming off the wye in Dresser, Wisconsin, and the final scene is from the 2816’s journey back to Canada. Chasing the Challenger Steam Locomotive 3985

I chased the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, Union Pacific’s 4-6-6-4 Challenger #3985 from Cheyenne, Wyoming to North Platte Nebraska. It’s on the first leg of a tour to St. Paul, Minnesota.

Chasing the Union Pacific 844 Steam Locomotive

Union Pacific Steam Shop’s 4-8-4 (FEF-3) Northern #844 visited California for the Western Heritage Tour. I chased it from Oakland to Stockton, California, with a memorable and historical meet at Hearst with Southen Pacific 4-6-2 #2472 and Robert Dollar Tank Engine #3. There will be a sequel to this video with all the extra railroad activities that happened during the chase.
