Railways in Britain 1959 – Development of British diesel, electric and steam trains


This promotional film was produced in 1959 to educate the general public about the development of diesel, electric and steam engines in Britain. The film features many examples of motive power, both in England as well as locomotives exported to foreign countries, and includes scenes of the “Deltic” class diesel which were the most powerful locomotives at the time.

Steam and diesel at Lužná u Rakovníka – 23/24 October 2010


The final open weekend of 2010 saw five steam locomotives and two diesels in operation at the Czech Railway Museum at Lužná u Rakovníka with 477.043 (Papoušek) hauling steam specials from Praha Masarykovo to Lužná u Rakovníka on both days. This short video shows 477.043, 354.195, T478.3101 and T458.1190 in action at Lužná u Rakovníka, Praha-Bubny and Praha-Dejvice.
