Great British Steam Engines- 1 – The Black 5′s Part 1
The first in a series of videos highlighting some of the most well-known classes of steam locomotive in Great Britain. “The Black 5′s are arguably one of the most powerful and advanced steam locomotives built in Britain. They were known as mixed traffic locomotives, a do-anything and go-anywhere engine”. This video looks at the Black 5′s designed by Sir William Stanier in the 1930′s to overcome a great need in newer, more powerful locomotives. Reputedly the largest outdoor show in the world, the Great Dorset Steam Fair is an extraordinary annual event attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors. From the might of the heavy haulage to the serenity and majesty of the heavy horses, the fair has something for everyone. In this programme we focus on the preparation and arrival of the main steam engine exhibits as they make their way slowly but surely to the fair site. Dampflok 50 2740 und 52 7596 zusammen an der Dreikönigsfahrt zwischen Münsingen und Gammertingen. Aufnahmen vom 06.Januar 2011 Dreikönigsdampfveranstaltung des EFZ. Zwischen Münsingen und Gammertingen verkehren die 2 Züge zusammen auf dieser Strecke am Nachmittag zwischen 14.00 und 16.00 Uhr. Anschliessend fuhren die 2 Züge wieder getrennt weiter. Es folgt noch ein update mit Informationen.

A Great Railroad at Work – 1942 American Railroads & Trains Documentary
Climb aboard the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad in the early 1940′s and ride behind electric & steam locomotives and first generation diesels. This film also shows a wide range of buses, trolleys, ferries and other modes of transport owned by the railroad to help perform its core business of freight and passenger transportation. There are scenes from inside the workshops, in the freight yards, views of the “Yankee Clipper” and inside the luxury passenger carriages. The railroad infrastructure is seen, including the large stations. You’ll even see trains being transferred via barges along the rivers!
