Stirling Engines and Air Engines by William Kidd of Ayr, Scotland

StirlingBuilder.com – Special thanks to William “Bill” Kidd of Ayr, Scotland for sharing his wonderful work with us. The photos here show a collection of Bill’s Stirling engines and air engines, as well as a few more interesting engine designs. You will even notice that Bill has built a replica of Rev. Stirling’s original design. These engines are beautiful hand crafted finely machined moving works of art. Videos of these engines running will be posted in coming weeks.

Do you agree with the plans to build a fast track railway to Scotland, if not why not?

Is it not a bit backwards that i can fly to New York from London, quicker than i can traverse the country? Have things moved on in the UK since steam engines chugged across the land? Which do you think is more environmentally friendly the plane or the train?

Sorry if this story is a little old.
Andyg, yep, i much prefer that!
Cbjack: If it were a 3,000 mile bridge i hope there would be no speed restrictions and a road side cafe every so often.
Misskandy, i prefer the train too, but it takes forever!!! Your weekend is gone, if you try the journey. You can go by night train, but that can take half a day!!
